L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival launch

Neither rain nor recession could cloud the glamour at the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival launch.

Dutch glamazon Doutzen Kroes, festival ambassador April-Rose Pengilly and Dannii Minogue sat front row with Governor David de Kretser and Premier John Brumby for a retrospective of mostly 20th-century looks.

Kylie and Dannii appeared at Sound Relief

It was billed a being a case of 'will she or won't she?' but Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue took to the stage at Melbourne's Sound Relief concert to perform a rendition of the Peter Allen classic 'I Still Call Australia Home'.
Kylie is at the Melbourne event to act as a guest MC. It follows on from other guest appearances earlier in the day including from John Farnham (joining Coldplay on stage in Sydney to perform a stirring rendition of his hit 'You're The Voice') and from Dannii Minogue, who joined her Australia's Got Talent co-host Red Symons on the stage in Melbourne to introduce Taylor Swift at Sydney's event.

Dannii Minogue sized up to bullies

AUSTRALIA'S Got Talent star Dannii Minogue has spoken about being bullied to be thin when she was younger and curvier.

"I was 19 when I moved to London and the British press put a huge amount of pressure on me – they said I was too fat because I wasn't the same size as my sister," Minogue has told Who's Bodies at Every Age issue.

"And you go, well, funny about that because we're two different people!"I definitely felt bullied, but that's just the size I was.

"What was weird was that I felt comfortable in myself, I just couldn't understand why it was a problem for everyone else. It wasn't their body, they weren't walking around in it."

Minogue 37, who was photographed for the magazine with Sonia Kruger, 43, and Jennifer Hawkins, 25, said she was happier than ever with her foxy figure."

From 28 on, I started to feel really excited about finding a different type of body confidence," she said.

"It just feels like you're in your skin. I definitely feel like I'm getting better as I'm getting older."

Sharon Osbourne blasts Dannii again

Sharon Osbourne has launched a fresh attack on Dannii Minogue, claiming that the Aussie popstar was "awful" to work with on The X Factor.

The music manager quit the ITV1 talent show last year following her highly-publicised feud with Minogue on the fourth series.

Speaking to the Daily Mail about her decision, Osbourne explained: "Can you imagine having to go into work every day and sit beside someone you can't stand? You would go mad. Well, I thought: 'Life's too short. What am I putting up with this for?'"

Asked why Minogue irritated her so much, she replied: "I don't know. Just the way that you sometimes meet somebody and it doesn't work - and that's what happened, and it went from bad to worse, from worse to awful to uncomfortable."

"Anyone who knows me knows I am a woman's woman," Osbourne continued. "I try to get on with people, but even though I sat beside her for all that time, I have no idea who she is. No idea what makes her tick. She doesn't give anything of herself."

The star added that she believes rumours of ill-feeling between Minogue and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, the programme's latest recruit.

She revealed: "I love Cheryl. She is relevant, she is gorgeous and she is young - so she's a threat to Dannii on those three levels."

Osbourne has recently made headlines by branding Minogue "an iceberg" and claiming that the singer "wanted to f*** Simon Cowell".

Dannii has some strong backing for her musical comeback

She's teamed up with Richard "Biff" Stannard, who has a proven track record with older sister Kylie on her hits In Your Eyes, Love At First Sight and Light Years. The title of the track is yet to be released, but British producers The Freemasons have been working on it.

"Dannii can sing, which is the paramount thing with us," The Freemasons' Russell Small said ahead of his performance at the Metro this Saturday.

"It's great to be able to do two sisters. It's something a little different for her, I think, because she's used to doing more the dance thing."

The Freemasons are also preparing for the release of a collaboration with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, titled Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer.

Dannii to attend Chris Martin's birthday party.

Chris Martin has invited the cast of Neighbours to his birthday party after Coldplay commitments meant he couldn't squeeze in a part on the long-running soap.

Martin visited the set eight years ago when Coldplay first toured Australia.

He wanted to go one step further this time, but was unable to make any of the three filming options presented to him by producers.

"He's a mad Neighbours fan, but unfortunately it just didn't work with the schedule this time," a Neighbours spokeswoman said.

But Martin will still get some time with his Ramsay St favourites at his belated 32rd birthday bash after the band's show at Rod Laver Arena tonight.

He has invited Neighbours cast members Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney, Kym Valentine, Stefan Dennis and Carla Bonner to the party.

The soap stars will attend the show as guests of the band before being shepherded to a secret location for the party, which will be a traditional Aussie barbecue, with a selection of fish and chargrilled vegies for Martin, who calls himself a piscetarian.

Also rumoured to be attending the exclusive event are Dannii Minogue and Natalie Imbruglia.
