Dannii Minogue: 'X Factor is addictive'
Dannii Minogue has revealed that she feels "addicted" to The X Factor after two years of appearing on the hit talent show.
The Australian singer joined the ITV1 programme for the 2007 series, which saw her mentoring the top two acts, Leon Jackson and Rhydian Roberts. Last year, she returned to her role but lost all of her singers before the semi-final.
Speaking to The National Newspaper, she explained: "I like the mentoring and the working with the artists that you're given. Having performed and knowing how nervous they are, you feel really protective about them.
"I want to make sure I've done my best so they can get out there and enjoy it, and maybe win. They want it so much, you can see it in their eyes."
Commenting on the continued speculation over her future with the show, the star added: "Who knows what's going on? None of us knows what's going on.
"I would like to go on. It gets addictive. I'm not competitive for myself but I get so involved and protective of the contestants that I want to make sure they are looked after - they're like my babies. It's the first time I had that kind of feeling about something."
Simon Cowell recently praised Minogue's commitment to the programme, naming her as the hardest-working judge.

The Pam Ann Show
Dannii will be a guest in The Pam Ann Show on April 15th at 21:30 on The Comedy Channel.
Pam Ann is the comic creation of Australian comedian Caroline Reid who portrays the 1960s-clad air hostess with a mixture of comedy and glamour. Fresh from a major UK tour, sell-out shows in New York, a sell-out 25 date European Tour and a hit run at the Edinburgh Festival, Pucci-clad Pam has also toured with Cher, crewed private jets for Elton John and even Madonna is a fan!
Kylie defends her sister
Kylie Minogue has slammed X Factor judge Louis Walsh and labelled him "pathetic". The '2 Hearts' singer criticised Walsh for the way he treated her sister Dannii Minogue on the ITV1 series.
"I think it makes it [hard] for her when she gets Louis Walsh's rather pathetic jibes - one of which is she hasn't had a hit record," she told Elle."That's not true. He has no idea where she's come from. No idea. And neither does England. And that's quite hard.
"She was on TV every week from seven years old. I'm just so proud of my sister and it annoys the hell out of me when comparisons between us are made in an unfavourable way to her."
The star added that suggestions that Dannii and fellow judge Cheryl Cole didn't see eye to eye were "so cheap".
"We all know there were issues between Sharon and my sister. But I don't think there were any between her and Cheryl," she said.
